About the artist:
Mika Albornoz (Maracaibo, 1991) graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2014. He specialized in Web and Multimedia Environments with a focus on Graphic Design. His work investigates the intersection between Latin American politics, linear narrative, queer identity, and pre-established structures.
After graduating from MCAD, he was selected for the Mildred S. Friedman Design Scholarship at the Walker Art Center, where he worked for a year. Mika has also been an intern at Rumors, a design studio in Portland, and 2 × 4, a global design agency in New York. She currently works as a graphic designer at the Children’s Theater Company in Minneapolis and continues to focus on his personal work.
