Max Provenzano

Max Provenzano (1986) is a Venezuelan artist based in Caracas. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Universidad Central de Venezuela (2011). He began his artistic career in 2009, experimenting mainly with painting, photography, installation, video, and performance. He has taken training courses at the Organización Nelson Garrido (ONG), Galería de Arte Nacional, Museo de Bellas Artes, Universidad Central de Venezuela, and Centro Cultural Chacao.

 

His work has been shown in two solo exhibitions: [inflexiones] (ONG, Caracas, 2014), and El Tercer Mundo, (Museo de Arte de Valencia, 2015), which was destroyed during its opening by acts of vandalism. He has exhibited works in group shows and ephemeral art shows in various cities of Venezuela, as well as Mexico, Colombia, Brazil and Finland. His most recent participations have been in Esqueje (ABRA, Caracas, 2016) and Obra Abierta – Ejes de libertad (Museo de Arte Contemporáneo del Zulia, Maracaibo, 2016).

 

His work has been included in the Salón Banesco Jóvenes con FIA XVII Construcciones identitarias: Cuerpo, Memoria y Lugar (Ciudad Banesco, Caracas, 2014) and XVIII Metáforas de la emergencia o las balsas de la Medusa (Centro de Arte Los Galpones, Caracas, 2015); Sideluck Caracas (Hacienda La Trinidad Parque Cultural, 2014); Salón Octubre Joven 2013 (Museo de Arte de Valencia) and 2014 (Museo Jesús Soto, Ciudad Bolívar), where he obtained the Second Prize; ECO – Encuentro de Colectivos Fotográficos Iberoamericanos, with the ONG (Santos, Brasil, 2014); XLII Salón de Artes Visuales Juan Lovera (Museo Caracas, 2013), where he won the Municipal Prize for Photography.
